If the app showed a report code (it starts with KL-), put it in your message.
Connecting your keyboard
- Connect your phone, tablet or computer to the keyboard’s USB port with one cable. KeyLayers finds the keyboard on its own.
- Not found? Check the cable carries data, not only charge, then tap Look again.
- Unplug the cable mid-song and plug it back: KeyLayers picks up where it was.
- An audio interface is never taken for your keyboard, so you can keep both connected.
Your account
- You make your account once, the first time you open KeyLayers, with Apple, with Google, or with a link we email to you. This needs the internet; playing afterwards does not.
- No email? Check your spam folder, then tap Send again.
- Your songs and sets come back on any device where you sign in with the same account.
Report codes
If part of the screen shows “Something went wrong here.”, the rest of KeyLayers keeps working. Tap Copy code and send us the code (for example KL-3F9A2C). With usage sharing on, that code lets us find exactly what happened. With it off, nothing was sent, so tell us what you were doing.
Asking for a song
In Settings → Songs, tap Request a song. We use requests to decide which songs to set up next.
Subscriptions
Paid plans are bought through the App Store or Google Play, and you cancel them there: on iPhone, iPad or Mac in Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android in Google Play → Payments and subscriptions. You are never locked out: if you stop paying, your setups stay and your keyboard’s own sounds keep working.
Deleting your account or data
- There is one way to delete: Delete account… in Settings → Account, or email us at hello@keylayersapp.com. It removes your account, your saved songs and sets, your song requests and the reports you sent, and the usage counts of every device linked to your account and of this device, which then gets a new random number. It takes the keys to KeyLayers’ sounds off this device. Your songs and sets stay on your device.
- Records of key requests are kept for their 180 days, then deleted automatically.
- To stop sending usage counts without deleting anything, turn off Share usage in Settings → Privacy.
- For anything else, such as the waitlist, email us and we will delete it.
What we collect and keep is set out in full in the privacy policy.
